What is the Country Store?
Our usual magical transformation of the Stables West classroom into Arborfest's own Country Store will be a little different this year... Instead of an in-person store, we will have an "Etsy"-style online shop in the Greater Giving platform, which we will fill with our Arbor community's kitchen deliciousness, hand-sewn and knitted items, repurposed upcycled inventions, paper crafts, and anything else you can think of.
All the same kinds of handmade items are welcome this year in the Country Store: homemade jams, pickled items, baked goods*, candy*, knit scarves, notecards, soaps, lotions, quilts, ceramics, woodwork, artwork, etc. We will also be featuring Ben C.'s (grade 8) wonderful design on t-shirts & tote bags. Something new we can offer this year are themed and mystery grab bags filled with smaller items for a surprise treat.
* This year we have the option of making Country Store items on demand, which is particularly pertinent to food items that have a shorter shelf-life like baked goods/candy. This means you can make one sample ahead of Arborfest for photo purposes (online donation form deadline: October 17th), then pledge a certain amount you are willing to make, and in the end, create only the item numbers purchased at Arborfest. All completed items need to be delivered to the Arena by November 6th (A table is set up currently in the Arena and items may be dropped off at any time--just please be sure to also fill out the online donation form & send photos so we know what is what!). We’ll work with you to drop off your finished products to Arbor to be packed by volunteers ready for pick up by the buyers.

We’ll also be hosting a Maker Information Night via Zoom, on Thursday October 1st. Join Jill Cropp as she shares ideas for all different experience levels, suitable for both kids and adults. You just may be inspired to have your own maker party with Arbor friends hosted in your backyard or over zoom.
